Finally!

Well, it has been such a long time since I have posted anything. Many reasons have contributed to my lack of new posts. Getting ready to move from Thailand back to Utah was a major production & took every waking moment (& many moments that I should have or would have rather been sleeping) that I wasn't doing school with the kids, carting them to various activities, or doing other family & home things. After we got here I was just so sad to not be living in our beloved Thailand anymore that I went through several months of feeling like nothing is exciting here, at least as exciting as things in Thailand, so what is the use of posting anything. I really felt like everything we do here is just the same as what everyone else is doing & unremarkable, so it was not exciting for anyone to read about the things that were going on. When we were living in Thailand, no one knew what our house, yard, neighborhood, car, anything looked like. It always felt special & exciting to write about our life & share pictures about things. That is how we felt we could still be a part & have you be a part of our lives. It has taken me 2 months to develop a more positive attitude about being here. While we still really miss our life in exotic & beautiful Thailand, we are enjoying lots of great things about life in the United States. I guess it is time to start back up on our blog again, although don't expect that I will change the name anytime soon. We will always be the ThaiNielsons. And, I still have so many pictures about things that I never got put up on the blog when we were in Thailand, that I will try to catch up & throw in some of those intermittently too. So, watch for the 1st post with pictures since we have moved back, coming very soon!

Curious George

Once upon a time there was a little boy named Kambren. Kambren loved to ride his brand new Batman bike. He was also very curious. He wanted to know if he could ride his older brother Rhees' bike. He tried it a few times & found that even though he was very small on such a big bike, he COULD ride it. He loved to ride very, very fast.

What he loved more than riding very, very fast was racing people. He would race his older sister, Ambrian. He would race his other older sister, Aybrielle. He would race the neighbors, Allie & Alisha on their scooters. He would even race the fix-it men on their motorcycles.

One day Kambren was riding Rhees' old bike which was much bigger than his own "just the right size" bike. He was racing Ambrian, & she was winning. Nearly to the house, Ambrian stopped to look behind her to see how close Kambren was to catching up. No sooner had she stopped but what Kambren came riding up behind her at top speed. He wasn't able to stop the bigger bike in time & he crashed right into her.

Up, up, up he went, & toppled over the handle bars of his bike until he landed face first onto the concrete road. He felt like Curious George. The road was not soft like the grass under the jungle gym in back of the house. His mouth hurt. His face hurt. He was very sad.

Daddy, the man with the big golf hat, had been watching the racing from the upstairs window. He had told Kambren it wasn't safe to ride the bigger bike. Daddy knew that he could get hurt more easily on the big one. But Kambren was just too curious.

Daddy rushed down the stairs, along with Mommy who heard all the commotion from the kitchen. Ambrian brought Kambren in the house. They all looked at Kambren. His mouth hurt very much. They all wondered if Kambren had any teeth left. Everyone was sad.

A few days later, when he was feeling a little better, Kambren decided to pose for a picture.

Kambren still loves to ride his "just the right size" Batman bike. He still loves to race very, very fast. But he isn't as curious anymore. He knows that bigger bikes are for bigger boys. And one day he will get to ride a bigger bike.

A Tale Without Words

It has been said that "a picture is worth a thousand words", or "a picture says it all". So I decided that for this post, since I had such great pictures of Aybrielle, Kambren, Kalen, Snowball, & Tiny playing out in the backyard, I would just let the pictures tell the story. As I have been uploading all the pictures though, I have been overcome with emotions of how very much we will miss living here! We have such wonderful memories & feel so blessed that we have been able to spend 2 1/2 years in such a great compound! And so, without further adieu, please enjoy watching an afternoon with 3 of our darling children & their bunnies!
